Apparently, looks can be decieving.  Big mean dragon!  No... not really.  And he's not burning down that library... well... not literally, anyway.  He's really a bookworm.  "Rare race?" you ask.  No.  He's a dragon... who likes to read... and hangs out in libraries.  And the only burning of books he's doing is accidental when he sneezes.



Name: Räal (Raeal) Soritha

Race: Red Dragon

A short description of your character:
Often quiet, with a tendency to bottle his emotions up.  Having escaped from a demon, he has spent his entire life in a paranoid fear that the demon is just around the corner, ready to attack.
Due to his genetic defects, he can't fly, nor is he as strong as many other, properly formed dragons, leading to a more submissive personality than what would generally be expected.

A bit about your history:
I am from the north, hatched with genetic-defects. I'd lost my parents to a monster when I was but six months old. I've spent the rest of my life both hiding, and following that monster.  Over my life, I've made various libraries my home, reading through their contents. I've read much, and applied little.
I've seen a lot of lands, met a lot of people, and made a few companions, each seemingly more likely to have gotten me in trouble, than actually ever helped me.

How did you find Ambrea?:
With my last companion, Kyle, we'd taken a boat to escape the last town we were in. Thanks to my 'companion,' we were both charged with theivery and arson. Not my fault, by the way. So, we took the nearest boat we could find, in which was compiled of a chef that was more stomach than man, a captain that I could almost swear was blind, and a halfling.
So, Kyle and I arrived at the shores of Ambrea, to find the little halfling buggered off with our gold.



Where do you hang out most in Ambrea?:
Originally, I'd planned to make the library my home, until the Lady of the Ravens had burnt it down. Though, I find the tavern has a tendency to be peiceful enough at times, or I just roam around the lands of Ambrea.

Anything special about your character you would like to mention:
He's quiet, though often listens to the conversations around him. He has a deep desire for knowlege, to gain as much from everything as he possibly can.

Spotlight on Daishi

He is THE black dragon.  And not fat.  Definitely NOT FAT.  You hear me, Daishi?  NOT FAT.  But he still needs a pretty skirt.  Yes.  Most assuredly.  If you see him, run screaming into the night... or throw snowballs.  He really doesn't like snowballs.  If you hear about an attack by a black dragon, it was probably Daishi.  Thankfully, he's not around rping all that often, or we might all be dead now... and that would be sad.... Daishi!  Come back and plaaaaaayyyyyy!  I mean... I will... yeah... RUNNNNNN!!!!

Spotlight on Бrégven

The absolute cutest thing to come to Ambrea in awhile, Бrégven is sure to steal the hearts of the masses.  He's a tiny little thing... and I really can't wait to meet him in character.  What more can you want than an adorable little gnome with his pointy hat and and one of the few characters that are actually shorter than I am!

Sierra is Adorable... with a capital A.  And Busty... with a double D.  Did I mention she is busty?  She is always at the tavern... well... since she's a BUSTY barmaid... I mean.. busy... yeah, that's right.  Don't get distracted by her cleavage, she's a feisty little thing and alot of fun.  I'm rather fond of her and quite glad she found her way to Ambrea.

A short description of your character:Working class girl, with small ambitions.  She's friendly, non aggressive, maybe a bit jumpy around feral creatures

A bit about your history:Born to be the guardian of a high priestess, but her life never took that direction.  After her home was destroyed, she at a very young age tok her infant sister and traveled far away, raising her as if her own child, working menial jobs to get by, with only memories of her initial upbringing to guide her over the course of twenty years.

Spotlight on Gemini

Gemini is one of the lovely fae who populate Ambrea.  I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her yet, but I'm sure that is just a matter of time.  Fae tend to flit about like the winds, going where they can cause the most mischief.  She is apparently a quiet person as well... so if you see her, it might behoove you to start up the conversation... or just admire her... fae like to be admired.  So do mer.... and shinies.. and candy.  Yes, candy is good.

Life is hard when you are Speaker, yes? Did I mention his hobbies include getting drunk at the Sithen with the Ard Rhi?

A bit about your history:

Raised by humans after escaping a wildfire that destroyed his birth clan, Lukka was brought up with a fair amount of knowledge in traditional healing meathods, and due to his longevity took several years learning the healing arts with an emphasis on herbalism and research. He moved to Ravensnest just on the edge of Ravenscraig to continue his research, though after a fair amount of time found himself wishing to learn more about his own people. (It is a secret he keeps that he is part fae) He moved to Tol Mithlond to begin a new life within their halls, and after the resignation of the previous Lord Speaker, Lord Thingol returned from the upper planes long enough to name and bless Lukka as the new Eminent Speaker and standing ruler of the elflands. He currently resides there happily with his lover, keeping up friendly relations with the neighboring powers and working toward returning Tol Mithlond to its original grandure.

Spotlight on Grim Grim

Who better for a Valentine's day post!!  Grim Grim... watch him, he will hump your leg and then steal your drink. Well known trouble maker, and somehow leader of the Black Wing Mercenaries.... Wierd, I know.  If you want to find him... check the jails and taverns... he's likely either causing trouble or locked up for causing trouble.  Is there an Ambrean record for most arrested character?  I don't know, but if there was, he would be the winner, hands down.

The creepiest character ever... yet somehow he has the girls flocking.  He's dead.  He's rotting.  He turns Kia's stomach.  Her first comment is generally about his smell.  But oh man, this boy can EMOTE.  A serious monster that you just can't help loving.  And... he... is ... CREEPY.  Have I said that yet?

A short description of your character: Obsidian colored skin. Rotten patches of flesh and many sewn and stitched cut and scars. Green satanic runes and short matted black hair. empty eye sockets.

A bit about your history: Was a man who sold his soul to Lucifer to save the life of his nephew but failed to succeed in saving him. Durring his time in hell was offered the chance to be free and accepted. Now possess corpses to be mobile even as they continue to rot. Finding and tempting others into selling their own souls and for every one he sends he gets a little more time to be free.

How did you find Ambrea?: Was searching through RP sims for one with a nice theme and more centered on the story than camping for EXP.

Where do you hang out most in Ambrea?: I tend to haunt the taverns in Ravenscraig and Tol Mithlond and the church just outside Ravenscraig.

Anything special about your character you would like to mention: I am the one and only dead guy who can use his insides as a hidden compartment. LOL. But on a serious note. I like how he represents a man who made one mistake that drug him down a dark path and now he wants to try to change things

"Hey wait! That's you! How is that fair?!" Yeah, yeah, I know. However, wouldn't it be nice to know a bit about the author here? I write about others, but this time, I'm telling you more about my own character. You see, I'm not just a blogger, I'm a player too! **yes, it's a cheesy hair club for men joke** I spotlight characters I know, players I've come to see as friends, people I run into while I roleplay. Roleplay is what it's all about, people, the story, the fun, the memories.


Name: Kia

Race: Elf gifted with Dragon blood

A bit about your history: Kia has a long history in Ambrea (I've been playing here for 2 years) She began as a pure blooded elf, dark hair and light skinned. She was a frightened little thing, scared of the world, because she had a gift. Kia is an Empath, meaning she can feel emotions. And she is a strong empath. When she arrived in the Wilds of Karamoon, she had no control, completely unable to protect herself. Over time, she has grown and changed vastly from her humble beginnings. Now, she is a dragon blooded elf, given the gift of blood in a primal magical working and changed out of all recognition. Her story continues no, even as you read this.

Kia is not quite sane, by any stretch of the imagination.  She is caring and giving, but she is not sane, even if she puts on a good show of it.  She is manic depressive and has multiple personalities, for good reason.  She can be a bit of a shrew, particularly with people she doesn't know.  She has alot of quirks that don't make sense to other people, though those closest to her take her as she is, insane or not.  She tends to assume the world works the way she thinks it does, which can make it difficult to reason with her at times.  She isn't narrow minded, but can give that impression when she gets an idea in her head.  Not everyone likes her, and that is fine, as long as no one gets in her way.  She is one of the only characters I know who can go just about anywhere, simple because she wants to.  She has been known to knock on the door to the enemy stronghold and have a glass of wine with the head baddie to discuss getting prisoners released.  Kia could be an important ally or a worthwhile prisoner, but no one seems to want to take advantage of her like that.  Go figure.



How did you find Ambrea?: I was dragged here with a gaggle of elves when the sim we had been playing on closed.

Where do you hang out most in Ambrea?: Kia can be found in a few places, though she is a bit of a wanderer by nature. The Court of Lunaria is her current haunt, since it's close to the Heart Tree, though she had been known to poke her nose into Tol Mithlond, the home of the High Elves.

Anything special about your character you would like to mention: Kia is not special. Kia is part of a vast and varied cast of characters that make Ambrea special. She serves her purpose and I enjoy her immensely.

Spotlight on Luna Barak

One of the few, the proud, the human. She has fought demons and lycans, and still manages to have good hair. I've known her almost as long as I've been in Ambrea, always there, always one of the fantastic female knights. She doesn't give in to being a wilting flower just because she is a human female. You go, girl!

Luna is one of the Ivory Knights, she has devoted her life to protect the memory of the Ivory King and the ideals belonging from him, protecting the harmless and the innocents.
She is loyal, honest and sometimes hard in her decisions and acting but always true.

A bit about your history:
She has escaped her homeland where she was kept as slave and as soon as arrived in Karamoon she found help and and a new home. She became very soon the scout of the First Knight of the town, and from that time she has always practiced as warrior till her knighthood.
She has always been true with her ideals and aside to the only love of her life, Sir Byron Kayo.

How did you find Ambrea?:
I have found Lumindor (that was once one of the land running the RPS) after my first week in SL, as I have been searching for medieval / fantasy.
When in Lumindor I started playing and interacting with the people coming from Ravenscraig and from Karamoon (The sims were not yet reunited together), till one day I have created a new character and moved to Karamoon and Port Tarrund from wich I have never stopped to be till it has been alive.

 So good at being bad!  Even when he's trying to be good, he's just... soo.... bad... **shivers with delight**  Rarely have I seen this charming, or not so charming, demon with a shirt on, not that the ladies of Ambrea mind all that much.  He makes good eye candy while you are being tortured.  **insert maniacal giggle here**  He really is one of the all time best villains and certainly a staple here in Ambrea.

A bit about your history: Kain has been it all, First knight of old Port Tarrund, A wildling, King of the keep, His history is tied to Karamoon history. Hes fought wars for bothsides, won some Lost some.

How did you find Ambrea?: Valruna was close back in 2004 i think hard to remeber, but anyways was looking for a new some when my self and Piper Shan found Ambrea. Back then it was just Karamoon not ambrea yet,

The Drink of the Night: Leprechaun Spirits

Bink Wylder listened to two brownies in the background talk between each other. They were telling jokes... about Slaugh.

Kia wanders into the tavern, sniffing and tilting her head curiously

Jehan Rakosi moved past Kia and nonchalantly flicked his tail at her," back for your weekly poison I see my dear?

Kia blinks and jumps a bit at the sudden touch of tail, turning nimbly towards that touch, though not necessarily towards him "I've been here all week and stayed away from the poisons" sticking her tongue out impishly "I came to make sure you don't poison anyone else, aye? Sprites said you were having a bit of a party tonight"

Jehan snorts." I don't poison people. People poison people. I merely make the drinks available. They are the ones that choose to imbibe. If they think to follow the path I tread even though little can poison me that I imbibe that is their own fault

Kia smirks, and arches a brow "OH fine, to make sure Nau'uss doesn't poison anyone.... better?" then gives a catlike stretch "I've warned Pie to always ask specifically, poor boy." her smirk turning into a crooked grin, showing off her pointed catlike teeth "And I do believe you were the one ill last week, aye?"

The Brave Ones

Bink shook his head as he noticed.. more voices, familiar ones... bickering in such a friendly manner as the Brownies were. Odd... it seemed quite the night for squabbling. He giggled, finding it all humorous.

Pie let out a groan, the day had been hellish enough. He just wanted a drank and not one  that he  would serve himself, glancing about as he entered the tavern, "Hail." He says softly, probably missing what had been sad before. Seemed like a quite night.. for now.

Jehan looked around the room and gave a soft dramatic sigh," nau'uss disappeared back to the side of him Senger it seems for awhile. We had to go to other sources tonight. and you are trying to ruin my fun with the human " he glanced to the door and slow grinned," Ahhh what is it they say "speak of the devil"?

Kisa Isenia peeks her head into the doorway to peek inside & see who is present

Kia tilts her head towards the giggling then immediately gets distracted "Pie! Mara aure. I've not heard you in what, a week?" offering out her hands for the young human without missing a beat in her bickering with Jehan "I"m not trying to ruin your fine, I AM ruining your fun. I am rather fond of him, as is Lukka and I"d not appreciate you shortening his already short lifespan."

Kisa lets her gaze roam about the room as she slowly takes a few steps in, hesitating on each persons face in case she might recognize someone

Bink says "Jehan would not kill Sir Pie. He knows were he to really go out and harm someone for being human I wouldn't speak to him for months..." He reached out and poked at the air as the brownies commented on the bottle. He could smell it and its unusual scent made his nose tickle over.

Pie blinks as he took Kia's hands, flushing slightly at the mention of being talked about, "Aye... such a short span of years..." He gave out a small chuckle and tilts his head to Kia, "It has been a while, how have you been my friend." He kept an eye on Jehan, trying to hid his amused expression.

Fluer enters the room disguised her colorful wings folded neatly into her back

Kisa Isenia watches the other female walk in, and tentatively follows suit, emerging even further into the room and looking about herself in vast curiosity

Fluer: finds a place to stand in the meantime listening to whats around her

Kisa leans into the bar, eyeing each bottle with suspicion. Occasionally she would sniff at one or the other, giving off strange expressions in reaction to each one

Bink blushed faintly as he sat back, " Jehan... Kia... I'd like to drink this now. The brownies say its good and I like its smell..." It was simple, but effective a response as any.

Kia smiles warmly at Pie as he accepts her hands, the simple touch a sure sign of her affection and trust "Tis good to feel you, aye?" her eyes crinkling up merrily "And of course I know Jehan wouldn't actually let Pie die... that doesn't mean he wont play mean tricks to make him ill. And I most certainly don't think he would o something to anyone for simply being human... just simply for being about and not bothering to ask specific questions...." trailing off for a moment in confusion "Are more people here?"

Jehan watched the others walk in and strolled past Kia flicking her with his tail childishly again," Why would people come here? I mean..its a tavern...and hello Pie.. be welcome all and enjoy.

Kisa looks over her shoulder at the female speaking, deliberating answering her but soon shakes her head & decides it would be safer to keep as quiet as possible. She looks back again at the bottles and finally takes a deeper sniff of one

Kisa almost squeaks in surprise at the tall horned man that walks past her, jumping in her nervousness and scooting further down the bar to get a few paces further away

Kia snorts at Jehan, attempting to swat at the tail flicking at her "I can't exactly SEE if people are here, now, can I?" then finally turning at the squealing "Ahha! So there is someone here! Mara aure and be welcome, aye? We are having a tasting!"

Kisa grumbles at herself for not keeping it together then tilts her head, letting her interest override her frustration, "A tasting? of what?"

Jehan moved over to the table and took up one of the cups there . Taking up the glowing green bottle he poured some of the liquid into the glass then set it before Bink," Here then Beloved. Try the leprechaun's bounty and see what treasures it holds for you." gaze flicked to the squeaking female and he arched a brow curiously .

Kia shrugs "I have no idea.... but I hear it's not poisonous this time" before holding out her hands and feeling her way towards Bink's voice along one side of the table then sitting neatly "Is it good? I would like to try"

Kisa shoots a look every so often to the tall man, almost with every move he made as though she were expecting him to suddenly jump at her yelling 'boo!'. She tried to keep her attention on the female, but with how much out of her element she was, she found it quite impossible, "...this...time...?"

Bink smiled softly, "The brownies told me the Drink is called Leprechaun Spirits. and that it has rainbows in it. I like the stories attached to rainbows. I can imagine they are quite lovely...." he takes the glass Jehan handed him and giggled softly. " it smells lovely at least!"

Kia chuckles softly "Aye, last week we sampled the Dancing Cerbera... Dancing with Death, aye? I like it.... but... well... it's poisonous. You needn't be nervous, I"m a healer, after all. I haven't let anyone die so far"

Kisa blinks slowly, her ears quite unbelieving of what she was hearing, "So far... that implies that you expect it might happen someday.."

Jehan grinned with his array of sharp teeth," So far. I keep hoping there will yet be a time ." he started pouring everyone drinks . Tail flicking idly as he did so .

Kisa moves closer to the table, staying at the other end of it from the tall one and leans over (quite rudely, by human standards) to try to snag one of the drinks

Kia grins, accepting a glass "Ah, why thank you, Ard Rhi for debasing yourself to visit so with us lower creatures.... and aye, so far... death stalks everyone. I'm a healer, not a Goddess." sipping at her drink "Pie, will you try it?"

"Ard...Rhi..." Kisa says the words slowly, trying them out and tilts her head "What is that?"

Jehan took up his own glass and sniffed at it a moment before looking over to Kisa with a smirk," King the humans would say.. just a title among the many I wear.

Bink sipped at his drink, sighing in the breathy freshness that was a cool rain shower... and a lovely spring day. "...aaah.. so this is what a rainbow tastes like!" he giggled faintly, but soon the giggles faded and he grew quieter. As he drank more, his ears began to sag and even the blush of his cheeks began to fade. "...its so sad. How come I can't see the beauty of a rainbow..." He frowned then and hung his head as he... sulked over it.

Kisa tightens her hold on the glass in her hand, staring at him before taking a deep drink

Katriana makes her way into the caverns. Gazing up the tall stone surfaces of the walls, she peers farther and farther back as she takes in the massive plants and dark tones. Head shaking, she turns slightly and calls up. "Is anyone here?"

Kisa clears her throat and looks around, growing all the more anxious in the quiet place. She looks down into her drink to take another but drops it again when she randomly starts giggling for no apparent reason

Kia closes her eyes as she savors the drink, her smile widening with each sip "Tis perfect.... Did you notice? Tis spring, early this year.... tis lovely and warm. The Heart Tree sings of it... he showed me how beautiful the Goddess looks all dressed up for spring...." she sighs, momentarily lost in misty memory, an almost goofy grin starting to form

Bink sighed out, hearing the echo of a voice in the distance. He shook his head and set his empty glass on the table. ".... my glass is empty... like my soul..." He shrugged and crossed his arms about his chest. "I hear someone.. they must be lost.. lost and alone.. I can relate to that...."

Jehan took in a breath and closed his eyes for a moment as he pulled in the fire that was his very essence. He had to control it long enough to allow the taste of the alcohol to come through. Draining the glass in one throw he sighed. smacked his lips and set the empty glass on the table. " My..that is a bright drink.. I can almost taste it " the heat around him began to rise once more and he smiled crookedly and rolled his shoulders.

Kia giggles randomly, then her face turns briefly into a brooding mask that gets wipes away by a grin, that looks more like a contortion "Yes... yes... yes it is..." giggling almost maniacally and suddenly feeling like she was going to cry

Fluer looks at her drink wary of it as she notices some changes in the attitudes of some people

The Smart Ones

Katriana continues to make her way to the back of the caverns, following the faint sound of voices beyond. A hand lifts to gently brush the curtain aside as she steps across the threshold of the strange tavern like room. Seeing those within, she slows to a still and glances across them before hesitating at the sight of Kia's presence. Some relief flickers across as she leans back and looks behind her, calling. "Kraden.. Kia is here." With that her attention turns to the others as she inclines her head within a low nod. "Good evening. I hope we are not intruding?"

Katriana hesitates as the strain within the room was almost palpable. Frowning, she glances across the others once more, taking this time careful note of the expression upon each.

Bink shrugged off the greeting in a way that was truly unlike him. "no bother... this is the place to just.. you know.. walk in on..." He sighed and gently pushed over his empty glass. "We are drink tasting... something so tragic of the rainbow.... that it leaves one cold and left wanting....

Kia muffles her giggles with both hands till she gets control over herself with iron like willpower "Aye, come in, have a drink... tonight's tasting is Leprechaun Spitits! It's quite good... err... Spirits.... " swallowing another random giggle as she tries to look attentive rather than suicidal "Did you need me?"

Fluer decides to take a small sip of hers

Jehan glanced over to Kia and chuckled," it might be spit " eyes widened at the thought and he clapped his hands" Oh! Leprechaun spit! that makes me wonder what else you can get out of them. I mean gold is so useless but there must be more there they live at rainbows! " he began to cackle gleefully

Katriana lifts a hand as she waves it before her. "Ah.. er.. no.. thank you. I've learned better then to partake of the drink and food of the fae." Gaze shifting across the others, her features flicker with some concern. "Is anything wrong?"

Fluer wonders why cant everyone just relax and be mellower.

Kia blinks a few times, then reorients herself so that she is actually facing Kat's direction "Erm... no... and they aren't going to keep people tonight" turning to glare in what she thought was Jehan's direction "Are you?" her voice pointed, but she completely ruins it by giggling "Oh, that would be funny, wouldn't it? Can we keep them!? I'm sure Bink would like a pet" then she starts laughing so hard she snorts before it turns to a little sob, everything about her showing frantic manic depressive mood swings, though the manic would seem quite a bit strong er than the brief bouts of extreme depression

Bink scoffed faintly, " oh sure... Bink needs a pet because he just sits there.. all day... poor blind Bink... hah... hah..." he inhaled deeply and leaned over the table to further....brood.

Fluer looks as if she isn't caring about the mood swings around her and herself but goes back to her drinking hearing about the possibly keeping people here a small alarm goes off in her head but its so small that she is of a mellow mind again a second later

Katriana shakes her head slowly though her gaze of concern turns back to Kia once more. For a time she simply stares at her as she seems to slip in and out of different moods. Features furrowing, she eyes her with some level of unease before stating carefully. "Ah.. erm.. Actually we did need you, Kia.. but.. It seems your a little.. that is.. Busy."

Kia lets out a little melodramatic sigh "Jehan, I think I need the antidote already" making doe eyes at him, though it was rather ore at Bink, weirdly enough "I am needed... and" she trails off briefly in a fit of giggles "And I can't do it when I"m all like this... well.. I could but it woudln' be very useful at all!"

Jehan reached over to lay hands on Bink's shoulders ," Sits? hah I see you dance..mmm dance " he gave a giggle and leaned down to nip at Bink's ear a bit before letting go and moving down past the others that had taken up seats at the table. He let fingers tap lightly over shoulders or hair randomly . The fae had little sense of personal space till he faced Katriana" ohh such pretties here tonight. Maybe I will break the truce I promised the healer and keep some " he gave another giggle " Its fun to stay with the fae I promise time here runs normal but we are steps from the dreaming

Kraden: had remained completely silent at Kat's side since their arrival. But as the male seemed to look at
Kat Kraden's empty eye sockets narrowed and he folded his strong arms over his broad chest. Oh just let another man try to touch her. But doing what he could to remain well behaved. They were after all here for help. not to cause trouble. And that was very counterproductive.

Emo and His Pal, Mania

Katriana slowly shakes her head as her gaze flicks to Jehan with more then a little bit of unease. Left hand slideing out, she moves to take Kraden's hand in her own, taking some comfort and stability from the grasp. She was uncomfortable stepping into the Fae's hall as it was, but Jehan's words only succeeded in raising her consern. Weight shifting, she steps back and offers a smile. "Ah.. yes of course you are.. prefer to keep such arts to those most used to it, yes?" With that she looks swiftly back to Kia with concern.

Jehan movement near the woman drew his attention and he lifted his gaze to the man. Gaze brightened and he slowly stepped around the man looking him up and down," ohhh you feel so wrong here and yet I just bet you are a great dancer " he laughed and grinned then waved a hand back at Kia's request for an antidote," Not now Kia this isn't poison you said yourself.

Kia rolls her eyes, picking up her glass and pitching it at Jehan's voice, likely missing by a long shot "Moron... surrounded by morons. Jehan. What am I?" as if asking a child, though she wasn't glaring, instead she was ginning like a maniac "What am I?"

Fluer wonders why cant everyone just enjoy the moment basically sit and talk without so much extreme emotions that were going around and takes another sip of her drink

Katriana keeps her hand firmly in Kradens, a sense of normalcy within the Fae's den as she simply watches Kia throw the bottle and listens to the others, observing in silence.

Kraden felt Kat take his hand and his own mighty gloved hand gave hers a comforting squeeze a she gritted his teeth beneath his mask. His entire face hiddenf rom sight and his usual scent of rot and decay covered by his colgone. Watching the male even as he circled about him and made remarks about him being a dancer. Kraden thinking if the male only knew. Kat still close to his side as he pondered for a moemnt and settled on building his chi just enough to be at the edge of opening the first inner gate in case it was needed. Looking to Kia and tilting his head to the side in his one ever silent confusion.

Bink sniffled softly, " I know I'm a moron!" he lowered his head upon his arms. "I'm horrible and useless.. and I can't even see... or walk...or cook.. or write or anything....I'm so useless!!"

Jehan cackled as the bottle when crashing tot he side of him. and he spun around almost seeming giddy till he paused head held to the side as he pondered . " oh dear..." he peered across at Kia and then at Bink then giggled again and took out a small vial" oh Kia?" snickering he tossed it at at her" Catch!!"

Fluer listen to his(binks) remark but finding nothing that would make her want a antidote yet continues sipping her drink

Kia would just sit there "Catch?" then being to giggle, then snicker, then laugh outright as if Jehan had just told the best joke in the world, of course not trying to catch the damn thing "Poor poor bink... What happened to you legs?! Did you forget them in the Dreaming? Or perhaps a pretty fae tdecided to keep them for you!" only giggling more as the vial shattered somewhere "I really... really... apparently... think I need the antidote...."

Katriana pulls free from Kraden's side as she looks to where the vial had fallen only to frown as it shattered upon the stones. Gazeing down almost mornfuly at the glass and seeping fluid, she drops suddenly as she draws up a small rag from her hip and moves to press it against the stones, soaping up what she could.

Bink sighed deeply, "my legs are fine!" He began to cry deeply and nuzzled his arms for comfort. "They are about the only fine thing I've got left."

Jehan can only laugh to the sound of the breaking glass. pointing at Katriana as she dabbed at the spilled liquid he leaned to rest hands on his thighs trying to catch a breath. The fire sprite flitted around his head and started pulling at his hair and ear. A hand lifted to wave idly at the small spark as he straightened and moved back over to the table," He spilled an array of the small vials out on the wood still giggling," Look look she is fretting at the floor when I have pockets of the things" more giggling and a snort at Bink," your legs are fine.. so are you arms.. your toes..your nose.. your back. yes I like you back. That curve there just above your butt" he nodded grinning and continued his name of body parts.

Kraden watches as Kat moves to begin cleaning up their growing mess. Eye sockets narrowing a bit as he shook his head. He knew they needed Kia's help. China has failed to follow through and so had Eve. They were running out of option to recover the memories he had lost somewhere amongst the thousands he had. And something had been telling them both time was running out as well. But why would she seem to care about cleaning their mess? But as the male began to point and laugh at her Kraden's temper got the better of him as he slammed a mighty gloved fist into the table top that shook and cracked a bit under his knuckles. Eyes blazing to life in errie green hellfire. His voice an errie symphony of a thousand voices of men, women and children speaking in cadence to each other. "She is cleaning your mess... Be thankfull she cares...."

Kia pulls herself onto the table, belly sliding across it gracelessly, but enthusiastically, hands reaching in a blind attempt to find Bink's face, attempting to plant a kill full on his mouth, or anything else she could reach "Oh, yes, I'm sure you are quite right Jehan! I could check though, Bink, if you are worried. I don't mind!" then she would rollingto a sprawl on her back "It's spring, you know!" then she turns to scrabble at the sound the vials had made, feeling around to find the ellusive antidote to the pleasant euphoria she was feeling

Katriana pats down across her hip, seeking a small vial. Ever the voodoo practioner, she pulls out one of the small empty sample viels she kept on her for such occasions as she keeps her back turned to the fae. She tries to keep the movements hidden as she looks to simply be cleaning up the mess before sliding the rag up and tightening her hand upon it in attempt to stealthfuly wring out what she can into the vial. Only a few drops were produced as the rag was too absorbing, and the stone too full of cracks. A small smile slips across at
Kraden's words, but she remains silent as she simply moves to tuck the cloth back to her hip, attempting to slip the vial back into her pouch as she does so. "Miss Kia? We do need your help... and your mind to be solid for it."

Fluer thinking that soon all the vials will be gone if this continues starts to show a very small bit of concern thinking if she sees another vial she'll save it

Bink felt so low that the floor had a better standing to him. Then.. hje felt lips.. lips that weren't Jehan's and he cried out, pulling away from the lips to curl up on the bench. "even Jehan thinks i'm no good now.... just letting me fall aside to anyone that needs the warmth.... I may as well just... wilt away here...." He tried to curl up fetally.. but the bnch wasn't THAT wide and he lsot his balance and fell onto the floor with a loud THUNK!

Kia snickers and snorts and giggles at the reaciton her kiss had had, then holds up a vial with an "Ah HA!" peeling it open and dinking it down like a shot, sitting cross legged in the middle of the table "I think Binky Boo Bear needs it too" managing to speak around her giggles as she waited patiently for the antidote to take effect "And I am TRYING to get my mind in order, and as soon as that happens, we can find a quiet spot to... well... do..." unable to finish as she goes back to giggling, even though her face suddenly looked mournful

Fluer grabs a vial thats still corked that is on the table and hides it in her clothes hoping no one noticed in case she would find need to be more emotional after all

Katriana wipes her hands off across her skirt as she steps back over to Kraden's side. Her gaze drifts back between Bink and Kia with mild curiosity before stareing at Bink in silence for a time as she simply takes in his prone state. Head shakeing, she casts a glance between Bink and the man behind him, wondering as the man did not seem upset with the blind fae at all despite his words. "... Is he always like this?"

Jehan moved around the table to peer at the fallen Bink and he started giggling again as he moved over to him . He jsut could not stop grinning and laughing as he moved over to scoop Bink up with a practiced movement " awww schmoopy! did you get a boo-boo? Kia called you a boo bear so a boo-boo might be right " he peered over at Katriana and shook his head," My Bink can be quiet and thoughtful but now he is all gloomy pouty " he made a dramatic pout of his own and reached over to take one of the small vials on the table . A claw uncorked it as he held it up to Bink's lips ," here my cutie wooty kin drink and be silly with me.

Kia shakes her head, the giggle slowly fading "Oh.. oh no... tis the drink. WE have a weekly drink tasting here at the Sithen. EAch week we try a new fae brew... see what it does." beginning the process of finding her way off the middle of the table, though she starts giggling more at Jehan's words "OH, he's a gloomy party pooper, is what he is right now... sad boy.... silly sad fae fae." despite her words, she would seem significantly less manic by the moment "Are you more comfortable inside or outside?" finally she had her feet on the bench, then climsily working her way to the floor, one foot at a time

Katriana glances across to Kia as she nods to her and offers her a faint smile. "Er.. anywhere where you think we would have some privacy." Nevertheless, she seemed to be more then a little releaved that Kia seemed to slowly starting to come back to herself.

Kraden reache sout his right arm and wraps it gently around Kat's shoulders and holds her close to his side as his lef thand that had stuck the table was slowly pulled up from the wood. A few splinters of the table falling from his leather gloved knuckles as he did so. settling down as his blazng eyes slowly died away to nothing. Calming himself as he tried to remember this gorup was apparrently quiet drunk. Looking from each member of the assembled group to the other. Watching Kia climb off the table and wondering if she would manage to peer into hsi mind and find the memories they wanted or if she would scrabble his mind into jelly without meaning to. Or perhaps she might do it deliberately. It was hard to place his finger on what she might do. The male on the floor certainly did seem a bit overly sad but perhaps that was just this strange drink they were having affecting him.

Bink sobbed as he took the vial in his hands. " Sure.... now you're drugging me so I'll keep quiet.. to be swept underfoot with teh rest of the dirt!" He wailed and mumbled something... probably in an emo statement as he drank the vials contents. He rolled into Jehan to nuzzle into his shoulder and as he did, the effects worked their magic.. the only indication of the change.. came in a soft, but notable belch.

The Few... the Proud... the Stupid?

China wanders in and sidles up to Bink, laying her hand on his shoulder..."I came to see what you had in store for this week my frind"  China turns and winks at Jehan admiring his newest head gear

Katriana shifts her weight as she glances to China. Gasping, her eyes widden as her left hand lifts swiftly to grip Kraden's shoulder. Glanceing between she and Kia, she calls out. "Lady china! We had thought we would not see you again! We were about to seek Kia out from despreation."

Jehan grinned and giggled to China as he held Bink in his arms. He gestured with his chin to the bottle on the table," It is such a drink I lowered my own fire to taste it . It has bubbles " giggling again as he gave Bink a bit of a hug

Bink sniffled and made a soft groan as he wiggled in Jehan's arm. "Miss China...? I hear Miss china..." he didn't sound so sad anymore... but instead... happy.

Fluer keeps silent still having not said a word the entire time drinks her cup till its half gone

Kia snorts a bit rudely at Kat's words, but smiles a greeting at China, her face now her normal serene and calm mask "Mara aure, China, seems you've missed the fun." her tone turning tart "And seems I am their last resort. Charmed, I'm sure." then smiling once more "Have a drin, China, the antidote for this one is on the table. Was loads of fun." a brief flash of dimples for Jehan's words as she turns her attention back to Kat and Kraden

China leans down and kisses Binks cheek softly, then turns to to see the odd couple that had come into her infirmary days before....

Bink giggles softly and blushed to the kiss. "...wait..." He wiggled in place as Jehan continued to coo over him. "...who kissed me earlier...?"

Kraden shakes his head at Kia's words. "Not so much as a last resort as we were desperate for ANYONE the could and WOULD help. Everyone we've come to has either been unable to help or unable to follow through. And we had heard you busy tonight and didn't want to disturb you. "

Fluer silently points at the lady taht did(kia)then goes back to her drink\

China walks around the table picking up the new drink bottle and taking a deep sniff of it...."Oh Kia my dear, you are hardly the last resort, I'd trust you with my own life" Greetings to you Miss Kat and Kraden"

Katriana slowly shakes her head at Kia's words, a dark blush flameing up across her features as she realizes too late how her words may have seemed. Embarisment rises as she slowly shakes her head but there was nothing she could think of to say to smooth the blunder. "I... Its.. we had.. told her in most detail the issue... we had waited for her.. Its .." Glanceing between China and Kia, she frowns a moment and nods to Kraden's words in agreement.

Katriana glances swiftly to China with consern. "Lady .. we have run out of time.. We need help. Tonight if at all possible... if not you then lady Kia though I would not fault if you both could, in case something goes wrong."

Kia blushes quite pink, though he couldn't see it, everyone else could "Ummm.... oh... that was me." then clearing her throat "I offerd.... how many days ago was it now? I offered to help. That offer still stands." offering her hand briefly to China in greeting as she heard the woman's voice come closer

Jehan let brows rise at Bink's question and gave fluer a wink as she indicated Kia but then ginning he looked back and instead of answer gave Bink a kiss and then some.

China winked at Kat as she stepped closer to Kia, taking the profered hand, she pulled her in for a hug. "Silly woman, you know very well that we are stronger as a team...and it will take both of our skills to help this man..."

Katriana glances to Kia as the blush darkens at her words. For a moment silent, she frowns a moment before gazeing across to the ground. Features furrowing, she shakes her head as her nature drove her to be brutaly honest. Gaze lifting to Kia once more, she frowns softly. "Lady Kia.. in all honesty.. the manner of our first greating was... Less then pleasant. It was this alone that drove us to wait for China. I am sure you are quite skilled." Glanceing to China, she inclines her head wihtin a low nod. "And truth be told, Lady China is likely right. I would feel better if you are there to protect her."

Kraden had gone silent once more as he listened to the convorsation continued about him. Gritting his teeth a bit in frusteration. His nerves building at the possibilty that he might actually finally discover who he had been in life. Was he oen of the darkest memories he possessed or worse? Or was there a chance that he had been... a decent man? His arm around Kat giving her a squeeze as he looked from Kia to China. Tow empaths that might very well be his salvation or his damnation.

Fluer looks at the being who winked at her,tucks her hair away pretending she didnt notice the wink

China turned to Kat and Kraden.."My appologies that you had to wait...I hope you haven't suffered more on my account"

Kia nods, smiing and returning the hug gently, oddly wincing a bit as if in pain, though she clears it from her features quickly "Of course, China. I am always willing to team up with you... well...now, anyway" she grins a bit,her mind briefly flashing to their first meeting so long ago "They haven't actually told me what they need me for. But come, lets go somewhere less public, aye? Is here in the Sithen, fine with you all? We can go to the Heart Tree if you prefer being out of doors, aye?" suddenly, oddly, turning to stick her tongue out at Jehan, then turning back, all business once more

Bink squeaked as he was kissed again... and lost track of who was kissing who when.. where.. and all that other silly rubbish. "...oh..." he said once his lips could move. "... I.. I'm thirsty...."

Katriana returns the squeeze as she offers Kraden a tender smile before stepping back as she nods to the two. "Anywhere you both wish to go, we shall follow, ladies. It is very kind of you both to be willing to help us."

Kraden stands back and out of their walkway respectfully. He needed their help and would do what he could not to irritate them. Remaining silent all the while. bowing his head a bit. Still wondering if what they will find will be anyhting like what he hoped for.

China nods and decides she'll hold off on a drink..perhaps if she survives this Jehan will save one for her....China tosses 5 gold varens onto the table..."Bink...Jehan my dears, save me one, I hope to return...I hope..."

Jehan carefully set Bink down again and made sure he was standing before he skipped...yes skipped...away to go get one of Bink's favorite drinks calling back over his shoulder," what a break up of the party No one is having fun and now they are all going to work

Kia begins moving with the simple assumption that people would get out of her way "My preference is the heart tree, to be honest. I am strongest there, even if it's all in my head"

Katriana nods across to the other fae as she offers a gentle smile. "Thankyou for allowing us entry to your abode. It is a very lovely home." With that she turns to follow the others, somewhat of like mind to Kia as the tree seemed the most peaceful and centered.

Spring in Nu'Kayem

Mother Nature, otherwise known as Venovara Ivory, has been hard at work in Nu'Kayem.  Spring has sprung, and in the nick of time too.  It looks like the weather will be stunning for the Valentine's Day Auction... and the party wont be a snow garden party, but filled with the sights and sounds of spring.  The scenery is stunning, all painted in the colors of spring.  It makes one feel like dancing... or singing... or loving.

Spotlight on Piper Biler

Ah, Piper, an elf to be reckoned with. I've known Piper a long time, and he's always been just an elf. I can still remember the first time I met him, something like a year and a half ago. He was suffering from extreme exhaustion (Hello, meter glitch!) and Maryld wished for him to see a healer. I was there and the rest is history! He's a warrior, a champion for law, and an all around great guy, even if I can't manage to run into him often enough.



Name: Piper Biler

Race: Wood Elf

A short description of your character: Piper is a quiet wood elf, preferring to stay in the background observing the actions of others. He is open, friendly and tolerant to a fault, always giving others the benefit of the doubt. He is also loyal and very protective oo those he considers friends and family. If he views you as a threat to his friends or family, watch out.

A bit about your history: Piper's family was killed by roundear bandits when he was very young. He was rescued and cared for by other roundears who eventually abandoned him. Wandering alone for many years, he developed an affinity for the creatures of the forest and land as well as an ability to play the flute. After many years of wandering he came upon a farmhouse in the lands of the Raven. Making his camp in the forest nearby, he carefully avoided the human who owned the farm and befriended the animals there. One day he was discovered there by another wood elf, Maryld, who through much coaxing and kindness brought him out of his isolation, to join her merry clan of elves. Since arriving in the lands a year and a half ago, he has seen much change and much upheaval, but has prospered with the help of his dear friends Maryld and Halo. He currently resides at the wood elf camp in Darkraven.

How did you find Ambrea?: After a significant break from SL, I started looking for friends from before. One friend, Lewisse Sak, had mentioned RPing here before, and had a link in her profile. I followed it and ran into Maryld, who introduced me to the art of Role Playing... Yes, I learned to RP in Ambrea...

Where do you hang out most in Ambrea?: Piper tends to hang out in the land of the ravens - Darkraven, Ravenscraig, and Ravensloch (and Ravensnest before the Lady of the Ravens destroyed it).

Anything special about your character you would like to mention: Piper is just an average wood elf, nothing special...

The Court of Lunaria

There are some truly stunning builds in Ambrea.  Absolutely incredible.  Top notch builders getting together to create an entire world for us humble players to live in.  One of those places is the Court of Lunaria, which is the court of the fae.  The Court resides in a hollowed out mountain, a feat of engineering. Glowing flowers and fungus abound... ladders string shelf like landings together... and there is plenty of room for flyers.

You enter through the giant doors, creeping in like a thief, if you don't belong.  Yes, that is me, the tiny speck by the right hand door.  Yes, they are that big.  A hallway leads you to the main room of the Sithen, letting you out into a land of wonder.

Everything seems to glow within the dark caverns of the Sithen, it is easy to imagine fae and sprites and brownies sneaking about on their own business.  It is a world of magic, of course, and it does look magical.

The place is truly vast with little hideaways for cuddling or hanging out with your fairie brethren.  Complete with a throne at the highest point of the mountain, a climb and a half for the poor Ard Rhi.... yeah, he doesn't have wings, poor dear.

There is even a lovely little hole in the wall tavern for your drinking pleasure, generally where the Ard Rhi can be found when he wishes to cause a bit of mischief.  You can find an odd mix of patrons at any given party... lycans, demons, and fae, oh my!  Do be nice when you visit, however, the tavern also includes a few more interesting seats... The fae will let you go.. eventually.

And do always remember to ask if your drink is poison.  You never know in a fae tavern... but at least they wont lie about it.

OMG I want IN!

So, you've seen the blog, you've been to the NING,  you've visited the sims, now you want to know... HOW DO I GET ME SOME!  Well, I am going to tell you that!  You can just sit back... relax... grab a coke and a cig and follow these step by step directions on how to get yourself started in Ambrea!  I do stress the relax part... nothing like a little stress to make something complicated, right?  So, here goes nothing....

Step One:  Get yourself to Ambrea.  You can find us in search or you can use the SLurls provided here.  (Just click on the hyperlink, copy the address and put it in chat, then you can open the teleport screen.)  Voila!  This is where you will arrive.  The Ambrean Welcome Center.  To one side, you see some of our highlighted players, to the other you see a lovely gold arrow!  Yes, the arrow is just what you think it is.  It's the direction you need to follow (And don't worry, you tp into a box with only one exit... you can't really get lost yet.  That comes later).  So, have a peek at the players of the month and consistently outstanding roleplayer (POM and CORP, for short, charming, I know) then make your way along the path, following the pretty gold arrows!

Step Two: See, here is the path, taking you into the Welcome Center.  First stop, notecard givers.  You can pick up all the general knowlege you might not know you need.... such as the all important bible, otherwise known as The Rules.  There are alot, but they are good ones, solid and useful and all in proper language, not leagalese, so they should be pretty easy for English speakers... if not, never fear... there is help if you need it.  There is also a bit of backstory for the sims, as well as the first group joiner.  You don't HAVE to join it, but it is highly recommended.  You get all kinds of good info, and it's a great way to get to know your fellow players.  It is also a great way to get quick answers for all your dumb questions (no question is ever dumb, promise, even if you feel a bit stupid asking it.)

Step Three:  And here are the all important RPS signup boards.  RPS is the combat system we use here in Ambrea, however, it's oh so useful and diverse, no matter what you want to be, from town drunk to a white knight to a poison maker.  You click the first sign (the one on the right) and imput your email.  I promise, no spam, I've been here 2 years and gotten ONE email when I signed up with my login info.  You need that to log into the RPS website.  Once you do that, you have created your very first RPS account that is all yours (yes, you can put multiple SecondLife accounts on one RPS account, so don't freak, you don't need a new email address for your alts).  So, yay!  One step closer to being an Ambrean roleplayer!  Next, you click on the second sign (the one on the left) to get your RPS HUD and meter.  Yes, it's required.  If you are truly against meter, then now is the time to go elsewhere.  Rez out the box, click on it, and poof, you have your shiny new HUD and meter in your inventory.  Now is the time to put them on.  Yes, you need both the HUD and the meter on at all times to play here.  So, go ahead and put them on, don't forget to be polite and clean up after yourself.

Step Four:  Now is the time you get to choose your race.  WAAAAAYYY up there are the various races you can choose from... and you can mix and match a bit among them.  Keep it believable for your character, but let your imagination run wild.  Ambrea also offers the option of "Rare Race" that picks up what the others don't... gryphons, balroqs, harpies... If it doesn't fit in the rest, you might be a rare.  If you aren't sure... don't worry, there is help.  When you click on the board (after first selecting the proper race, yes, that's what the little white arrows are for), you will be prompted to imput your email... use the same one you used before.  Then you get a bunch of seemingly inane questions.  Those come into play later, so answer as your character would, but please, don't freak out and stress about it, it's not life shattering.  Be sure to read the appearance standards, and be sure you fit in the medieval fantasy theme.  No, cyborg, bad.  You are not medieval... or fantasy, for that matter.  We let alot of different things in... if in doubt... ask...

Step Five: ...the mentors.  Here, as I promised, is your help.  See the big gong?  Yes, it really is that big.  Or maybe I'm just that small.  It's hard to tell some days.  If you need help at any point during your setup, or after, or before, this is the thing to hit.  It spams all the mentors who are online and lets them know you are crying and tearing your hair out and need help and NOW.  We have a full staff of fantastic volunteer mentors. Give them cookies and be nice.  They know everything, or at least they want you to believe they do.  Use them, don't abuse them.  They volunteer their time from the goodness of their hearts just to help poor folks like you.  Don't be afraid to use the gong, though.  Please.... just hit it once... give them a few moments to IM you or walk their selves up to you.  They are players, just like you want to be, so they might be in rp when you ring.  A good rule of thumb in general is, find a mentor first, let them decide if an admin really is needed.  It's much easier on our poor abused admins if the mentors get to field what they are trained for.

Last Step:  See all these pretty glowy pictures?  Yes, I know, they are lovely.  They are useful too.  These are the teleporters to various places in Ambrea for you to begin your rp epicness.  Just sit... and wait.  Please, wait.  They are multisim teleporters, it might take a couple minutes and a few jumps for you to get there.  If you stand too soon, you will get stuck or fall or drown or otherwise die a horrible SL death.  They work.  If you let them.

OK, so you took all the steps and you still say "But.. but.. but I don't know where to start?!" yet again, tearing your hair out and sobbing on your keyboard in consternation.  Don't fear, there is help.  There are wonderful beginner quests available.  See the raven?  I'm standing by it.  He's on top of a big stick.  He's really friendly and he loves being pet.  So give him a poke and see what he offers you.  THEN go sit on a teleporter and see what it takes you.  Let your roleplay adventure begin!

Deep Thoughts

So, I was sitting at home, all OOC like, gathering and preparing the spotlights and sorting through my many and varied notecards.  I had an epiphany.  Yes, an epiphany.  I need authors.  Sure, I like my writing.  And sure, my friends like it.  However, I don't want this blog to be about me.  It shouldn't be.  This blog is about Ambrea.  It's about all of Ambrea, not just my little corner of it. It's been so wonderful that I've gotten so many submissions for the spotlight.  People I've never, or rarely, encountered in roleplay.  It's been more fantastic that I could have imagined.  But I'm greedy.  Yes, I admit it, I'm terribly greedy.  I want more.  I want more authors posting their points of view.  I want several from many and varied factions.  More points of view, more pictures (Yay!  Pictures!), more stories.  And you know what?  It's not even selfish.  I want more authors for the readers, not to save myself work.

Ambrean citizens, lend me your fingers!  Become an Ambrean Times author!  Show your stuff!  Share your love of Ambrea, the passion I see all the time, with the big wide world of the interweb!  Show off your writing to a larger audience, or just post pictures (Yay!  Pictures!  Oh...
